MINUTES OF THE MEETING – 11/20/03
President Don Hagopian called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM. There were 35 people present. Again Rocky’s donated their banquet room for our meeting.
Don welcomed everyone and announced some important dates and times (listed below). He then introduced our airport manager, John Frymyer.
John discussed the following topics.
3 Accidents recently
Rain gutters for rows BB, CC, &
DD.
Row C is going to lose their water.
New Jet-A fuel truck is on line
Gas price at the pump is down to
$2.58 and off the truck is $2.68.
EAA is changing their Young
Eagles Program to every other month
December 15th will be American
Airports and Rocky’s Holiday Party.
John then took questions from the
audience.
Thom Polizzi gave a report on the
Task Force meeting. The meeting was on November 13th at 10AM.
There were 10 people present. He stated that the meeting went well.
Points covered:
Sweeping frequency – Needed a regular
schedule
Problems with the self-service
fuel pit – Some problems were corrected
Hose retractors – Possibly bigger
reels would be needed
Re-locating hangars that are in
the taxiways – A re-location plan is in the works
Rotating Beacon – John will have
a test flight to see what the problem is
Wind Tee – Refurbish the tee if
it will make it safer. Don Goldman volunteered to help fix it and
the county will order parts
Closer supervision of employees
– More mature employees have been hired
Fuel trucks – New trucks are here
and on line
Trash dumpsters – Bigger more visible
units have been brought in with about the same capacity and a recycle bin
for paper, glass, plastic and metal has been brought in
Portable rest rooms – one will
be added near the display area
New construction will be required
to have public restrooms
Closer monitoring of helicopter
operations to operate by the rules
County is going to apply for an
ATIS frequency
Further development issues will
be addressed at a later meeting
Officers Reports:
President, Don Hagopian, reported
that at the last Board of Directors meeting Ruth Logan was appointed chairman
of the Social and Public Relations Committee.
Jeanne Fenimore was appointed as
Parliamentarian.
Dave Kolstad gave the treasurer’s
report – We have $1100 in our checking account. 2004 dues are now payable.
Vice President, Bill Fenimore,
gave a report on the importance of participation in various committees
such as Membership Committee. He asked for volunteers to head the
committee.
Airport Manager, John Frymyer, offered an incentive of 10 gallons of fuel for the person who brings in the most new members by January’s meeting.
Flyout suggestions were proposed
such as: Tulare and French Valley and possibly a Pancake Breakfast here
on a Display Day.
